Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
CGS is an Archdiocesan Approved faith Formation that uses a Montessori approach for children ages 3-13. Children discover their faith through the Scripture and Liturgy by using prepared material. Children meet in a permanent prepared environment called an “Atrium” located in the D’Youville center. Children are in mixed age groups according to the child’s needs: Level I for 3-6 year olds, Level II for 6 to 9 year olds and Level III for 9 to 13 year olds. Through the CGS program, the catechist and the child together build a relationship with God through the Scripture and Liturgy.
Children receiving their sacraments prepare through study of the moral parables, extended discovery of the Eucharist and through special retreats. They also join in the parish retreat days.
