Our Preschool is a Ministry of Saint Jude the Apostle Parish, and provides a warm, loving environment for children ages two to four. Our structured classrooms are the setting for a curriculum that begins with socialization and progresses to school readiness skills. All that we do is founded on Jesus Christ, as revealed through the teachings of the Catholic Church. We honor and respect the role of the family in this world, and we hope to serve yours through this Ministry.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Help children to adapt socially to a school environment Assist each child to feel like a member of the community
Instill in each child a love for learning Encourage responsible behavior with choices and consequences
Stimulate the need for reading and writing Introduce new experiences and a variety of skills
CURRICULUM
Our general curriculum is based on the Creative Curriculum, 4th Edition and comprises the following:
The alphabet, sizes, shapes, numbers, measuring, pouring, cutting, painting, music colors, spatial concepts, days of the week
and months of the year, sequencing and writing skills. Children also acquire skills in good manners, listening, team work and thoughtfulness for others.
SCHEDULE
Our school day begins at 9AM and ends at 12:30PM (12:15PM for 2’s). Each child brings a lunch from home to eat with classmates and teachers. Parents should follow Saint Jude the Apostle Parochial School closings in inclement weather. The school year begins after Labor Day and ends in May 2009.
ENRICHMENT CLASSES (for 3 & 4 year olds)
We offer Spanish, Music Theory, Science, Phonics, and Ballet as optional after school programs. Parents are free to choose which activity, if any, their child participates in.There is a fee for each activity in addition to the regular tuition and activity fees.
PROGRAMS
Two day 2’s Age 2 by 9/1/08 Tuesday and Thursday (Older 2’s)
Two day 2’s Age 2 by 9/1/08 ` Wednesday and Friday
Three day 3’s Age 3 by 9/1/08 Must be potty trained Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
Three day 3’s Age 3 by 9/1/08 Must be potty trained Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Pre-K Age 4 by 9/1/08 Must be potty trained Monday through Friday
REGISTRATION FEES
A non-refundable Registration Fee of $100 and $85 for each sibling, is required to hold a place for next September’s classes. Return one completed application form for each child along with the appropriate fee/s.
